Ledina Story Factory’s owner Svjetlana Jaklenec is a passionate award-winning Film and TV director and writer. She is an alumna of the prestigious Cineplex Director’s Lab at the Canadian Film Centre. Her short films, Dangerous Heroes, The Quarry and Rishi’s World have screened at various international festivals and garnered accolades and awards. As an accomplished writer, she has been awarded the Telefilm Canada screenwriting grant, the Corus Entertainment writing grant and the Harold Greenberg Development Fund for three feature screenplays.
The recognizable thread to all of Svjetlana's work is a directing style of rigorous visual impact, raw and at the same time strikingly intimate and poetic storytelling, combined with a non-judgmental approach to her characters. Svjetlana hopes to lead by example to both, the women needing life encouragement and the filmmakers needing support in telling truthful and thought provoking stories.
In addition to wearing the hats of writer and director, Svjetlana has extensive experience as a 1st Assistant Director, Set Decorator and Production Designer making her well versed in schedules, budgets, and the demands of execution during production.
